Adventure is never predictable
Oddly, social-distancing has gotten us a little more active than normal. In part, from the respectful dance that we all must perform to maintain a six-foot buffer, from supermarkets and sidewalks to our favorite trails. But also because this Big Reset has changed us.
It’s made us appreciate the things that matter the most: connections with others, connections with the outdoors, and a connection with adventure. And like it or not, we’re buckling up for what may be the biggest adventure that any of us have seen.
At Diamond Brand, our mission is to bring out the adventurer in everyone, with durable, high-quality outdoor gear that is crafted with care and made with sustainability in mind. As a domestic manufacturer that also supplies military gear to the United States Military, we are required to follow the requirements of our federal government. Consistent with the President’s guidelines: “If you work in a critical infrastructure industry, as defined by the Department of Homeland Security, you have a special responsibility to maintain your normal work schedule.” The Essential Critical Infrastructure Workforce includes workers who support the essential products and services required to meet national security commitments to the Federal Government and the U.S. Military.
Additionally, in response to need during the COVID-19 pandemic, we have transitioned part of our operation to the cutting and sewing of a variety of scarce medical supplies. We have a nimble operation that is poised to assist with the manufacture of equipment that can save lives, and we are making every effort to do so. Diamond Brand Gear is proud to be one of a number of local manufacturers joining this call to action.
We are fortunate to have a working space that allows us to, as safely as possible, work in a communal environment within our corporate mission during the COVID-19 crisis, and we have and are adopting all best practices for safety during this time.
By operating during this time, we are doing everything we can to maintain the livelihoods of our workers while meeting the growing demands of our internal and external partners. We are humbled by the support of both our Diamond Brand teams and our customers, as we have seen an even greater shared commitment to our mission. We are committed to paying PTO to any employees that experience symptoms and will evaluate any adaptations that must be made to our practices as the situation evolves.
In response to the COVID-19 crisis, we are limiting access to our facility to our employees, so we have taken the measure to close our doors to the public for an indefinite period of time.
Our schedule for making and shipping items on purchase orders is currently on track, and all orders placed through our digital channels are currently being fulfilled. If anything changes that is out of our control, and we have to delay or possibly close our doors for an indefinite period of time, you will be the first to know.
